Stacey Lee Purkey, 63, US Army veteran, passed away on June 26, 2026 at his home in Wichita, Ks. He was born on September 3, 1962 to Bill and Nancy (Howell) Purkey in Oklahoma City, Ok.

He was a resident of Wellington for most of his life before relocating to Wichita recently. He retired from Star Lumber. He was an avid gun collector and enjoyed going to gun shows. He enjoyed aviation and always took the opportunity to ride in helicopters and airplanes. He also enjoyed going to renaissance festivals and collecting star wars and GI Joe’s. Most of all he enjoyed being a grandpa and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and granddaughter, Amera Myers.

He is survived by his daughters; Brittany Purkey (Jason Helpingstine), and Brianna Cummings (Jason Norris), and four grandchildren; Hanna Clausen, Trysten Myers, Zayden Helpingstine, and Emma Norris.
