Steven R. Barnes, 76, passed away on March 8, 2026 at his home in Wichita, Ks. He was born on September 5, 1949 in Lakin, Ks to John and Mildred (James) Barnes.

He was a small engine mechanic for several years until retirement. He loved the Lord and was an active member of Calvary's Rock Church in Wichita. He was an avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing and hunting. He was also known to have a green thumb and enjoyed spending time gardening. He loved his family more than anything and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Jammie Barnes, and brother, Lloyd Barnes.

He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Linda, sons; David Barnes, and Bryan Barnes, brother, Keith Barnes, four grandchildren; Faith, Dallas, Paige, and Jace, as well as his close friend, Keith Buster.
