Steven C. Owens, 64, passed away on May 29, 2025 in Wichita, Kansas. He was born on January 31, 1961 in Wichita to Ralph Owens Sr., and Rosa Lee (Booker) Owens.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ralph Owens Jr, and Harry Vann, sister, Karen Owens.

He is survived by his children; Sean Owens, and Stephanie Owens, two brothers, William Owens III, and Marcus Owens, along with 4 grandchildren.

Private family services to be held.

As I Sit Here Next to You

As I sit here next to you, I can't help but think of all the memories we've had together, the joy, the pain, and the sorrows. The ups and downs have kept us together and through everything, we held on tight, even when we didn't see eye to eye. I have seen you on your worst days but, I have seen you on your best days. Fret not though as I have seen more good than the rest. I admire to be as good of a father as you. You are the strongest man I know, strong in your conviction with the Lord and with the family you have raised. Tough love yet with a gentle voice.

As I sit here next to you, I can't help but wonder, how long, how long have you buried your pain and if you ever gave it to God. The pain you have gone through was not in vain, as it was another step in faith.

As I sit here next to you, I have no doubt that you are with the Lord now, forever at peace. All the steps you've taken in life were so you could walk with him. I can no longer hold you in my arms, I must let you go so that you may be in the Lord's arms. This is not a goodbye but a see you later, alligator. I know you'll be looking over all of us.
