Steven Allen Routon, 53, died Saturday, December 21, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on August 2, 1971 in Clovis, New Mexico, the son of David Loyd and Leona Carol Cowgar Routon, Sr.

The family had moved to Texas where they lived until moving to Wichita in 1986. Steven attended Wichita South High School.

He loved playing disc golf with his nephews and was an avid football fan, especially the Kansas City Chiefs. Steven also enjoyed remote control cars. Through the years he had been an automobile mechanic.

Survivors include his mother Carol Routon of the home; brothers Rowdy Routon of Fair Play, Missouri, David Routon, Jr. and wife Teresa of Holyoke, Minn.; sister Kimberly Jean Axe and husband Ronald of Wichita; along with several nieces and nephews.

Steven is preceded in death by his father on January 10, 2007.

Services will be held at 4:00 P.M., Saturday, December 28th at Affordable Cremations Plus in Wichita.

The casket will be open prior to the services between 2:00 P.M. and 4:00 P.M.
