Susan Marie Young, 56, died Sunday, December 28, 2025 at Select Specialty Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.

She was born on May 17, 1969 in Oren, Utah, the daughter of James Dean and Elaine Eastmond Elwell. The family moved to Wichita when she was a child were she graduated from Wichita Heights High School.

Susan married Devin Wade Young on February 14, 1996 in Wichita. He died on January 8, 2003.

She loved listening to Rock N Roll music and attending concerts. Susan enjoyed playing with her dogs. Through the years Susan had worked at West Acre Bowling Alley and Cheddar's Restaurant.

Survivors include her two children William Wade Young and Hailey Denice Leean Young; along with her brother Robert James Elwell and God-daughter Madison Grimes all of Wichita. Susan is also survived by her lifelong partner Floyd E. Barney of Wichita; along with her aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Susan is preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons Brandon Garrett King, Ashton Taylor King; and daughter Carrie Denice Elwell.

Graveside Services & Inurnment will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, May 14, 2026 at the Walnut Hill Cemetery in Kingman, Kansas
