Tamara Lynn Penaloza, 67, of Wichita, died Thursday, February 12, 2026 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.

She was born on December 18, 1958 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Gregory and Nancy Davidson Burke. The family moved to California when she was a child where Tammy was raised and graduated from high school in Fountain Valley, California.

She married Mateo Cabrera Penaloza in 1986 in Garden Grove, California. They continued to live in California until moving to Wichita in February 2009.

Tammy enjoyed doing arts and crafts.

Survivors include her husband Mateo of the home in Wichita; son Cody Burke and his wife Rosie along with Tammy's grandson, Wyatt of Homeland, California.

She is also survived by her three sisters Donna Ingrham of Surprise, Arizona, Janet Preyleko of Jurupa Valley, Calif., and Marie Preyleko of Billings, Montana.

Tammy is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers Bob Preyleko, Mark Burke, and Danny Burke.

No services are being planned.
