Terry Russell Snyder, 79, of Derby, Kansas, died Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at the Robert J. Dole Veterans Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.

He was born on April 1, 1946 in Cortland, New York, the son of Philip Russell and Leona L. Mattison Snyder. Terry graduated from McGraw High School in McGraw, N.Y. and later received a Master's Degree in Mathematics from SUNY Binghamton University.

He served in the U. S. Marine Corps between 1965 and 1969 in Viet Nam. Terry married Terry A. Scoville on April 24, 1976 in Kenosha, Wisconsin where they lived until moving to Wichita in 1994.

He later married Tammy K. Wood Snyder on December 23, 2001 in Wichita. They were members of Westlink Church of Christ in Wichita.

Terry had a lifelong love of hunting and fishing, beginning as a young boy in upstate New York. He hunted turkey and deer, last bagging and hauling out a doe in 2024.

Survivors include his wife Tammy of Derby; sons Christopher Snyder and wife Sylwia of Reno, Nevada, Michael Snyder of Wichita, Jeffrey Snyder of Ho Chi Min City, Viet Nam; brother Philip Snyder of Utica, N.Y.; step-children Briana Randall of Seattle, Washington, Bryce Brecheisen of Santa Monica, Calif.; and two step-grandchildren Leah Randall and Emily Keller.

Private inurnment will be in the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery in Winfield, Kansas.

In keeping with his frugal nature, arrangements are by Affordable Cremations Plus, Wichita, Kansas.
