Troy Neil Grigsby, 61, longtime Wichita resident, died Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Ascension Via Christi Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita, Kansas.
He was born on March 19, 1963 in Wichita and graduated from Wichita North High School in 1981. Troy later attended college at Southeast Community College in Milford, Nebraska
Troy served in the U.S. Navy and Naval Reserves.
He married Tinia Ren'e Taylor on July 14, 1989 in Wichita. Troy loved antique cars and going to car shows. Troy and Tinia enjoyed going to flea markets, antique stores and car shows together. He enjoy playing pranks on people and watching their parrots.
Troy was an expert Ultrasonic Nondestructive Testing Technician/Inspector who was specially trained and qualified is the use of the ultrasonic sound spectrum to examine and test materials. Most recently, Troy was one of only a few primary Spirit AeroSystems NDI Technicians who supported the assembly of Boeing's 787 Dreamliner forward fuselage.
Troy had worked over 36 years in the aircraft industry in Wichita at Beech, Boeing and Spirit.
Survivors include his wife Tinia of the home; father Gary Neil Grigsby and step-mother Joyce of Wichita; along with several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother Donna Marie Steel Maxwell; step-father Russell Maxwell; and sister Catherine Lesher.
Private family services will be held later.
Arrangements are by Affordable Cremations Plus, Wichita, Ks.
