Virginia Lee Routh, 96, longtime Maize resident, died Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at her home in Maize, Kansas.

She was born on March 26, 1928 in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Harry and Myrle Vanita McCormick Seese. The family moved to Maize when Virginia was six years old.

She graduated from high school in Salina. Virginia later married Francis Routh, they continued to live in Maize. He died in 1988.

Through the years Virginia was a member of the Maize Tree Board and enjoyed taking her cats to shows. She and Francis were active in maintaining the Maize Cemetery.

Survivors include her grandson Danny Routh and his wife Megan along with their children Dj, Madelyn and Harley.

She is also survived by her daughter Lucille Doolin.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons Curtis Routh and Bill Seaveno.

Inurnment will take place at the Maize Cemetery at 1:00 January 18th 2025.
