Virginia Walker

Virginia Sue “Nappie” Walker, 77, of Haysville, Kansas, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born June 17, 1949, in Omaha, Nebraska, she was the daughter of Charles L. and Charlotte C. (Sullivan) Bigley. On June 12, 1969, she married her childhood sweetheart, John R. Walker, Jr. Together they built a life in the Wichita area. John preceded her in death on May 29, 2010.

Through the years Virginia worked in Wichita at Graphic Systems and Safelite Autoglass. She loved to travel, and she especially enjoyed being outdoors—camping, hiking nature trails, and simply soaking in the beauty around her. More than anything, she loved her family. She especially treasured time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, filling their lives with quiet kindness, playful traditions, and a love that never wavered.

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Kelly Dufford, and granddaughter, Cassandra Collier and her husband Kevin Collier, of the home in Haysville; her son Troy Walker and his wife Nikki, and her son Shannon Walker; her brothers, Fred Bigley, John Bigley, Bobby Bigley, and William Bigley; and her sisters, Pat White, Mary Deman, and Sharon Pojar.

She was a proud grandmother to Cody Walker and his wife Taryn Walker, Cassandra Collier and her husband Kevin Collier, Mercedes Walker, Katie Ennis-Walker, Kylee Walker, Tyler Walker, Austin Walker, and Brynn Walker.

She was also a beloved great-grandmother to Adrianna, Delaney, Hunter, Hudson, Haizley, Jhene, Jaquarvis, Luna, Phoenix, Kaiden, Kleopatra, Knox, Apollo, Lucy, John, Luke, and Jack.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; her brother, David Bigley; and her sisters, Courtney and Darlene.

A private celebration of life will be planned in the future.
