Wesley Logan Heinlein, 76, of Hutchinson, died Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at the Hutchinson Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson, Kansas.

He was born on January 23, 1949 in Great Bend, Kansas, the son of Max and Bertha Holmes Heinlein. Wesley graduated from high school in Buhler, Kansas in 1967.

Through the years his family farmed on the Northern part of Reno County. His father operated a gas station on North Plum in Hutchinson as well as Heinlein and Son Trucking.

Wesley worked for over 20 years for Reno County in the Water and Sewer Department until retiring in 2012.

He married Pamela Sue Perser on February 14, 2014 in Hutchinson. Wesley was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Oklahoma Sooners fan. He was active with the Corvette Club and worked with the fund raising efforts for Spina Bifida. Wesley also enjoyed spending time with his family camping and fishing.

Survivors include his wife Pam of the home in Hutchinson; children Max Heinlein and wife D'ana of Hutchinson, Leslie Sawyer and husband David of Tightwad, Mo., Jeff Heinlein and wife Laci of Nickerson, Ks.; his step-children Radley Brooks and wife Kati, Shae Brooks and husband Robert Barajas, and Erica Cunningham and husband Jason all of Hutchinson; sister Linda Wirzberg and husband Cliff of Joplin, Mo.; 19 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren; along with his sister-in-law Kathy Heinlein of Goddard.

Wesley is preceded in death by his parents; brother Daryl Max Heinlein; infant sister Karen Kay Heinlein; and grandson Ethan Garner.

A Celebration Of Life will be held at a later time.

A memorial has been established with the Spina Bifida Association.
