Wilbur Dale Sells, 87, passed away on January 30, 2026 at his home in Wichita, Ks surrounded by his family. He was born on October 5, 1938 in Wichita, Ks to Phillip and Nellie (Petersen) Sells.
He graduated from West High School in Wichita in 1956. He married Karen Stanley on August 14, 1960. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air National Guard. He spent 10 years working for the Red Cross and he later retired from Sears as the assistant manager of the automotive department. He was a station officer with the Wichita Police Department.
In his early years he was an avid bowler. He loved fishing and going flying with some of his close friends. He also liked trains, spending time with his family, and he especially loved his grandchildren, and his dogs, Casper and Misha.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Anita "Sue" Moody, brother, and Donald Sells.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Sells, sons; Christopher Sells (Diane), Kirke Sells (Kim), and Phillip Sells (Heather), 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandsons, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws that he loved dearly.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Life Change Church 10225 E Kellogg Drive, graveside to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Wichita Park Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed https://www.lifechangechurchwichita.com
