William Louis Asher "BJ" (48) of Haysville, Kansas, passed away at his home on Saturday, August 16, 2025, in the loving arms of his family after an incredibly hard-fought multi-year battle with cancer.

He was born May 31, 1977, in Wichita, KS.  BJ met his lifelong love, Jessica, and they married May 27, 2000. They lived in Wichita and Haysville during their 25 years of marriage.

BJ is survived by his wife Jessica; son Corwin (Courtney) Asher of Wichita; daughter Taylor (Tae) Thongdee of Norfolk, VA; son Lane Asher of Jacksonville, NC; son Levi Asher of Haysville; grandchildren Cainey and Corwin Asher; mother Debi (Ron) Anderson; siblings Danny (Lacey) Asher, Cyndy James, Tony (Lynn) Perkins, Chablise (Tim) Milby, Ronnie Anderson, and Monica (Dan) Mattson. He is preceded in death by his father Corwin William Asher, Jr.

BJ gained a loving family through his lifelong friendship with Joel (Shana) Downer and Wiley and Bailey who knew him as an uncle. Additionally, he was loved by his family through marriage; parents Tim and Diana Mott; sisters Andrea (Ryan) Glessner, Amy (Matt) Warriner, Jamie (Opie) Mott-Hilton; uncle Jim Clark; nieces and nephews who fondly called him "Uncle Fluffy;" and grandpa Don Clark. He is survived by many others who loved him as a son, brother, and friend.

BJ was a provider and protector who loved his wife and children fiercely and was always their biggest cheerleader. He attended every school function and military event, even when he was battling serious health limitations. BJ was a loving grandpa and enjoyed spending time with the little ones.  Anyone who knew him well, knew that he was incredibly knowledgeable about vehicles of every shape and size and a gifted mechanic. He loved his work and rarely missed a day on the job fine-tuning the maintenance needs of firetrucks for Dwight D. Eisenhower Airport and the City of Wichita.

More often than not he could be found tinkering in his garage, working on vehicles and his fishing boat just for fun.  He was a skilled cook, loved quoting movies, watching (and lighting) fireworks, night catfishing, and was the king of "name that tune." He had some great one-line zingers, which were usually delivered with an enviable poker face, which he masked under his magnificent beard. BJ had a memorable frown, which his children inherited, but his smile was truly something to behold.  He gave incredible bear hugs that those closest to him will miss.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 23rd at the First Pentecostal Church, 1755 E MacArthur Rd, Wichita, KS 67216.
