William Howard "Billy" Preston, 48, died peacefully at his  sister's home in Park City, Kansas on Sunday, January 12, 2025.

He was born on January 8, 1977 in Pratt, Kansas. Billy was raised and attended schools in Pratt, Kingman and Wichita.

He had lived in the Wichita area most of his life. Billy had been a trim carpenter for many years and master at anything he touched. He always lit up the room with a smile! He loved being a jokester, making people laugh every chance he got.

Survivors include his mother Clara Jean Pence Burnam of Wichita; his children Jordan Preston and wife Kalei of Kingman, Jadyn Preston of Topeka, Austin Preston, Brennan Preston, and Mihlyn Jones all of Wichita; his sister Carla Wetta of Park City; seven grandchildren Tatum Preston, Emersyn Preston, Liam Preston, Madisyn Preston, Amyrah Reeves , Legacci Preston, and Righteous McCray ; niece Chelsea Smith-Mckinney and her husband Geoff ;  nephew Kaysen Wetta.

Billy is also survived by his half-brothers Kevin Hammond of Pratt, Kyle Hammond of Wichita, Shawn Hammond and Josh Hammond both of Pratt. Half-sisters Shandra Woody and Sonya Hammonds both of Pratt.

He is preceded in death by his father Willie Hammonds.; half-brother William; step-father Lynn Boyd Burnam ; maternal grandparents John and Sara Pence.

A Celebration of Life is planned for a later time.
