William Harl Sunderland, 70, of Arkansas City, Kansas, died Thursday, August 20, 2026 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.

He was born on November 12, 1955 in Winfield, Kansas, the son of Warren and Ida Thompson Sunderland. Bill was raised in Ark City where he graduated from Arkansas City High School.

From the age of 13 he has done drywall work with his dad, brother, and son with Sunderland Drywall, serving Ark City and the surrounding areas.

Bill was very involved with his children, coaching soccer and kickboxing. He would say his greatest achievement was his family. Bill loved spending time with his family, making sure everyone was taken care of. He loved his family and friends very much and he was loved by all.

Survivors include his wife, Crystal Renee Romine Sunderland, who he married on June 21, 2008; sons Aaron Sunderland, Mycah Pendleton; daughters Crystal Moss and husband Carl, Saylis Pappan; brother Robert Lee Sunderland; and grandchildren Alexis Shrum, Joseph Pappan, Kolby Shrum, Michael Pappan, Amaela Sunderland, Reagann Pappan, Ashlynn Moss, Jaiven Sunderland, Kalven Sunderland, Brooklynn Sunderland, Ryker Moss, Layla Moss, Aubree Moss, Kai Moss, and Maddox Moss.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents.
