William "Bill" R. Thompson Jr, beloved father and friend, passed away on November 27, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on September 9, 1953, in Prague, OK, he lived a life filled with simple joys and an ornery spirit.

A true fan through and through, he bled crimson and blue for his KU Jayhawks and cheered with his whole heart for the Kansas City Chiefs. Whether it was basketball season, football season, or any moment in between, his passion for his teams brought excitement to those around him.

But nothing brought him more peace than sitting on his front porch with his faithful dog by his side. That porch became his sanctuary—a calm place to relax, to talk, and wave to neighbors, with his loyal companion never far from his feet.

Above all else, his greatest pride and joy were his daughters. He loved to share stories about their careers and families. He was so proud of their accomplishments in life.

Bill is survived by his sisters Lennie (Bill) Cornish, Sherlyn (Jack) Hiatt, his daughters Jennifer (Chris) Haislett, Kelli (Alex) Kimmel, his nieces, nephew, grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his mother, father, and sister Stephanie.
