Willis Alan Hizar, 47, passed away on April 10, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family. Willis Hizar was born on October 15, 1977 in Wichita, Ks.

Willis was a general contractor in Kansas and Texas. He loved listening to music of all genres with a fondness for the blues, which he shared with his uncles, who also trained he and his brother Jake in the contracting business. He also loved cooking and sharing his labor with friends.

Willis is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Burns and Mildred Brandon, paternal grandparents, Al and Aimee Sherwood.

Willis is survived by his mother and stepfather, Donna and Gene Hecox, father Ray Hizar and his wife Sandy Hizar, brothers; Jake Gilstrap, Andy Hecox, Ray Hizar, sisters; Margie Gilstrap, Laurie Hizar, Andrea Hecox, Christine Hizar, Rachel Hizar, and Daniel Hizar, children; Tatianna Hizar, Noah, Caleb and Henry Compton, Mason and Kayden Hizar, his niece Jaylyn King and her mom Liberty King with whom he shared an unbreakable bond. Along with several nieces and nephews who he lovingly cherished.

Memorial services are being held on April 28, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at First Pentecostal Church 1755 E MacArthur Road Wichita, Ks.
