Quentin Eugene Wallace, 79, died Tuesday (April 4, 2023) at his home in Wichita.
He was born on January 30, 1944 in Wichita, the son of Marlin Eugene and Elizabeth Wallace Hiebert. A lifelong resident of Wichita, Quentin graduated from Wichita North High School where he had been a Drum Major. He later went to Wichita State University and Temple University. During the Viet Nam Conflict he served in the U.S. Navy after which he went to the University of Iowa where he received his Master's Degree in Trombone.
Quentin married Jozelle Anne Johnson on March 24, 1984 in Wichita. For 30 years he was a Band and Orchestra Teacher for Wichita U.S.D. #259.
He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church as well as being a part of Bible Study Fellowship for several years. Quentin had also played Bass Trombone for the Wichita Symphony for nine years.
Survivors include his wife Jozelle of the home; two daughters Laura Wallace of Manhattan, Ks., along with Emily Plattner and husband Broc of Sabetha, Ks.; and three grandsons Ford, Cal, and John Luke Plattner of Sabetha.
Quentin is preceded in death by his father; mother Elizabeth Hiebert; and step-father John Hiebert.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday (April 15, 2023) at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Wichita.
A memorial has been established with Aldersgate United Methodist Church and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. Contributions may be sent to Affordable Cremations Plus.
